The development of my art and style is a never-ending growth spurt. Just like the never-ending cycles of nature I’ve always been so fascinated and inspired by. Growing up in a city full of summer homes, perfect lawns, and little tourist shops, made the natural world into a much-desired fantasyland. Every chance I got to spend outdoors or in the woods became a chance to study and admire the intricacies of all things, big and small, around me. What interests me most was how no matter how chaotic or disorganized nature seems, everything is still connected, has a place, and has a purpose.
Functionally and quality are two main focuses in all of my art. I also enjoy using a variety of different mediums and techniques, which I believe adds to the appeal of my pieces. Currently the aesthetic of my work incorporates natural elements as well as forms that hint at a natural background.
In the past my work was very simple, earthy, and intentionally raw. While some of my current work reflects these traits, I find myself drawn to patterns, designs, and textures, with a focus on technique. At this point in my education, I am still experimenting with everything I am learning, and I am excited to keep doing this as I work to find my niche in the artist community.
